Rudolph Valentino's Chicken from Parma

“Women are not in love with me but with the picture of me
on the screen. I am merely the canvas on which
women paint their dreams.”

It helped that he was the King of the tango... Grrrr.

Rudi's Chicken was a big hit. Secret ingredient? A big mug of sherry. I made it for Sidney on Sunday for our quiet night in. I am so very, very, very happy that he turns out to be a man not averse to fiddling around with a jigsaw.

Next morning in bed he kept pursing his lips with a faraway look in his eyes and I said, "what are you thinking about?" to which his response was, "last night's chicken". Ha ha – it’s a winner!

A good man is hard to find and you are lucky to have found one in Sidney. Don't let him go, girl, especially if he will fiddle with a jigsaw with you. How can I get Rudolph's Chicken recipe?

Aw, thanks Mistress Absolute - alas, I think my jigsaw companion has skedaddled... If you send an email to silverscreensuppers@yahoo.co.uk so that I have your email address I'll bounce back Rudolph's recipe - Lya x

Is it possible that Rudolph Valentino had that little knowledge of what he was giving off on screen?
God, when you think he could not be any more attractive, he comes up with a statement that one!

Lya de Putti--

You know, from what I have read I bet Valentino really believed that statement.

I just found your blog. What a wonderfully creative Idea, I am really enjoying it. You found a new way to enjoy the classic stars,
Right on!

Aw thanks so much for your lovely comment Addie. It's a hugely enjoyable project and I'm so pleased people enjoy reading about it. I am really looking forward to exploring YOUR blog, fascinating. I've mucked up my itunes by installing some new software but once that's sorted I am tuning in!

And like you, I plan to be a "ruiner of men!"
