Rudolph Valentino's Secret Spaghetti Sauce
Last night I took some of Rudy's Spaghetti Sauce over to Hackney where Ava is convalescing after a double foot operation. YIKES. Her account of the ordeal they put her through has almost put me off wearing high heels, absolutely horrific!
We had two bowls of Rudy's special each whilst watching Sunset Boulevard. Ava hadn't seen it before and as I'm planning to write the Sunset Boulevard article this weekend it was good to see it again. We laughed when Gloria observed about her shiny dance floor, "Rudolph always said that tile was best for the tango" (or something approximating that).
The sauce was just as good as it was first time around so this is one for the book for sure. Absolutely no change in flavour or texture after freezing. Excellent!

So, what the heck is Rudy's Recipe for Spaghetti Sauce...Geeze!
Do you really have the spaghetti sauce, or is this some weird blog with a bad aftertaste?
I lived in Whitley Heights here in Hollywood, I just passed Rudy's old homestead on Whitley Terrace and Wedgewood...it's all blocked off with a great wall, no trespassers allowed.
I was hoping you had his real spaghetti sauce, but how could you, he's been dead since 1927...at the age of 31.
It's a recipe that was published in an article Hedder Hopper wrote in the 1920s - apparently his very own recipe hence "Rudolph Valentino's Secret Spaghetti Sauce". All the recipes mentioned on my blog were published in newspaper articles, magazines or cookbooks and attributed to the stars themselves. We all have our favourite recipes and they did too!
PS - If you would like to try his own recipe I am more than happy to send it to you...
